Terms and Conditions

The following information forms the basis of participation in the Shangri-La Golden Circle guest recognition programme. Your participation in this programme will be governed by these provisions, and it is in your interest to fully read and understand all of them. Golden Circle Programme Terms and Conditions cannot be superseded or changed except in writing from Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts.

General

  1. Golden Circle Programme membership and its benefits and services are offered at the sole discretion of Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts. Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts is represented by Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd, Hong Kong.
  2. All Programme benefits, services, and terms and conditions apply to all Shangri-La and Traders hotels managed by Shangri-La International Hotel & Resorts.
  3. The Shangri-La Golden Circle Programme Terms and Conditions are governed by and are to be construed under the laws of Hong Kong.
  4. Membership in and application for the Shangri-La Golden Circle Programme is void if prohibited by law in the country of the member's or applicant's domicile.
  5. The Programme has no predetermined termination date and may continue until such time as Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts decides to terminate the Programme, at any time, with or without notice. Members will have six months from the date Programme termination is announced, to enjoy Golden Circle benefits and services.
  6. Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to add, modify, delete or otherwise change any of the terms, conditions, benefits and services pertaining to the Programme at its sole discretion without prior notice.
  7. Only individuals aged 18 and above are eligible to enroll in Golden Circle Programme and become Golden Circle Members (defined as individuals who have been accepted as members by Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and who have received Golden Circle Programme Terms and Conditions). Corporations, associations or groups are not eligible for membership.
  8. Golden Circle membership is not transferable.
  9. Programme membership entitles Members the right to membership benefits, services and bonus mileage which can be received in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Programme.
  10. Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to discontinue Golden Circle membership for any Member who appears to be using the Programme in a manner inconsistent with the Terms and Conditions or intent of the Programme or any portion of the Programme. Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts also reserves the right to discontinue membership for any Member who acts in a manner inconsistent with the local statutes or ordinances. Discontinued membership will result in the loss of all benefits and privileges.
  11. All interpretations of this Programme Terms and Conditions shall be at the sole discretion of Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts.
  12. Any Member who has not stayed at a Shangri-La hotel or resort once in one calendar year, their membership will be classified as inactive and will result in the forfeiture of any membership benefits. A Member may reactivate his or her membership at Classic level by staying once or by other such means that Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts may establish.
  13. Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts is not responsible, and assumes no liability, for changes or discontinuance of Partner service.
  14. Nothing in the Golden Circle Programme Terms & Conditions is intended or shall be construed to create or establish any agency, partnership or joint venture relationship between Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and the Partners.

Benefits and Services

To receive benefits and services, Golden Circle Member must be a registered, paying guest at the Shangri-La or Traders hotel and meet all of the following.

  1. To ensure you receive Shangri-La Golden Circle benefits and services, please provide your Golden Circle membership number when you make your Shangri-La reservation and present your Golden Circle card when you check-in.
  2. Shangri-La will make best-faith efforts to deliver specified benefits and services to you. However, not all benefits and services can be provided at all Shangri-La hotels or resorts. Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts shall not be liable for refunds or for consequential damages resulting from failure to deliver such benefits and services.
  3. Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts has the sole right to amend or withdraw any benefits and services anytime without prior notice.

Executive and Elite Membership

  1. Shangri-La Golden Circle Executive membership will be extended to Classic members who, in the course of one calendar year, record a minimum of 20 qualifying room nights at two or more Shangri-La hotels or resorts. Shangri-La Golden Circle Elite membership will be given to Executive members who, in the course of one calendar year, record a minimum of 60 qualifying room nights at three or more Shangri-La hotels and resorts. Qualifying criteria may be changed from time to time at the discretion of Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts without prior notice.
  2. You must requalify each year for the following year's membership. Only qualifying stays will be counted towards upgrade or requalification of membership. Non-qualifying stays are defined as stays in conjunction with airline and / or travel industry discounts, of airline crew members paid by the airline, Group Conventions / Corporate Meetings and complimentary stays. Such criteria may be revised from time to time at the discretion of Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts without prior notice.
  3. Qualifying stay requirements do not include back-to-back stays.  A stay is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at one hotel or resort, whether or not a member checks out and checks back in.
  4. Reservation of multiple rooms, under the same name of a Golden Circle Member, during the same stay shall only be counted as one qualifying stay.
  5. Regardless of the number of registered guests per room, only one qualifying stay will be credited to a paying Golden Circle Member per stay.

Travel Partners

  1. To receive airline bonus mileage, you must present a valid membership card from airline partners, you must also be a Golden Circle member and a registered guest of the hotel or resort paying a non-discounted or corporate rate at the time charges are incurred. The bill must also be in your name. Charges for Golden Circle stays prior to your enrollment in Golden Circle will not be eligible for retroactive credit. Your account number cannot be used by anyone else. You will receive bonus mileage for that stay which has previously been agreed with airline partners. Bonus will only be paid on the basic mileage as on "Classic" level and will not be paid on other promotion mileage. Only one airline bonus can be credited per stay.
  2. In the event that Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts terminates its affiliation with any hotel or resort property, or any airline partner, benefit & service & bonus mileage will not be awarded for stays at that property or that airline partner.
  3. To enjoy airline partners' exclusive offers, you must be a Golden Circle member and a member of the airline partners' programme. The terms and conditions of offers provided by airline partners are determined and interpreted solely by the respective airline partner and not by Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts.
  4. Car rental terms and conditions are determined and interpreted solely by the car rental partner and not by Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts.
  5. To receive car rental offer you must be a Golden Circle member. You must also contact Hertz International Reservation Centre and quote reference number CDP#497227 for your rate discount and PC#981761 for your upgrade.

Personal Data

  1. In accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), the Member consents to Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts using any personal data (as defined in the Ordinance) supplied in connection with any Programme for Shangri-La Hotels & Resort's own internal and direct marketing purposes, and consents to Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts supplying such personal data to any other parties to use for such purposes. The Member also consents to any such personal data being 'matched' (as defined in the Ordinance) with other personal data and to such personal data being transferred to places outside Hong Kong.
  2. By signing the application form to enroll in this Programme, the Member authorises Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts to use and disclose certain information for any participating partners and for any internal promotion purposes.
