Exploring Chengdu
Just southwest of the city centre, People's Park is worth a visit for its beautiful scenery, monuments as well as for the teahouse. The park holds a bonsai rockery, swimming pools and the Monument to the Martyrs of the Railway Protection Movement. This beautiful obelisk marks the uprising of the people against dishonest officers during the construction of the Chengdu to Chonqing rail line.
