Exploring Huhhot
Situated in busy downtown Huhhot, the Temple of the Five Pagodas was erected in 1732. Sixteen metres in height, the pagodas were built using glazed brick, with 1,560 Buddhist statues in relief form, hence its also being called the Thousand-Buddha Pagoda. Five small pagodas stand atop the temple. A horizontal stone board hangs over the main gate with inscriptions in Mongolian, Tibetan, and Han.
