Bus service for Penang can be somewhat sporadic. There are some free shuttle bus services for getting around the city. Enquire with the hotel about the best way to take a bus if this is your preferred option.The KTM (Keretapi Tanah Melay) provides inter-connecting services between Singapore, Province Wellesley and Kuala Lumpur. Other stations towards the northern peninsula join up with the Thai Railways at the border. A monorail system serving Penang is currently under development.
