Exploring Wuhan
Hubei Museum contains a vast collection of artifacts from the internationally known Zenghouyi Tomb, which dates to 433 BC. The male internee—the one in the tomb—was buried with approximately 7,000 relics. Spectacular is a two-tone, seven-note scale of 64 bronze bells that are played using hammer-like objects and poles. Apart from the intricate carvings found on the chimes, it serves as evidence that a musical scale existed in ancient China.
